i am about to get a header for my 22re and i am thinking of going with the pacesetter. but i was told they are not that great and was told to go with LC Engineering header. but is it really worth the extra money. is there any difference between them. or is there any other header that works great with the 22re.
also what is a good cam to go with for four wheeling. i dont mind idle just as long as helps out.what grind and what brand or are all brands are pretty much the same.
also what are some good bolt ons for the 22re. i got the kn fipk and am planning on getting the cam and header. and what should i stay away from.
i have a 89 toyota pickup 4wd with 22re 5spd.

I don't personally have pacesetters but have heard nothing good about them. Not just for the toys but also other vehicles. My brother had the downey header w/ ceramic coating on his pickup and was very pleased. Its pricey though. He had it on for over three years and never had any problems. The cheaper the header the better the chance that you will be replacing due to warpage or fitment issues.

I have a downey header on my 91P/U with 22re and I like it. The truck already had the header when I bought it, so I don't know how old it is. If I was buying one now though I would take a good look at LC's header. It's 304 Stainless and at $290 about 16 bucks cheaper than downey's ceramic coated header.(prices from their current catalogs) I just ordered and installed a timing kit from LC. Very high quality components and perfect fitting. Plus look at the engines they build.......gotta know something about the 22re.
