Hey all...
Some questions:-
I've got a 1990 runner with 31's underneath, old man emu nitro chargers & springs and it sits nicely (2 inches higher I believe).
The rims are CSA 5 spoke which I believe are 7.5 inch.
Question - will 33's fit on it now with *only* that two inch of susp lift? or will I need either 1 or 2 inches of body lift? and will 33's fit onto my rims? or will I have to fork out to get new ones? turbo needed or gearing changed?
Initially I wanted to put a 2 inch body lift and get 35's on it - but have heard I'll definately need to either turbo it, or get my gearing changed. Would 2 inches of susp lift + 2 inches of body lift be enough to get 35's on?
I am still deciding which way to jump... I am after the cheapest option.
Also, anyone heard anything about Coopers S/T? I've got H/T's on now, and want better offroad rubber but still good on road...
Finally, snorkels - Airtek or Safari?

Hey man...well 33's will fit but will rub with your current lift. You could go 2" body lift if you want to get past the rubbing. 33's will fit on the 7." width wheels depending on what width of tire you get. I have 33x12.5 on 15X8's. Works good. You could run 33x11.5's or something if you want to cut down on the width. Where ever you order the tires should be able to help you out on that specifically If your after the cheapest option then body lifting is for you. Do you know what gearing your runner currently has? There is a gearing chart in the articles section of this site. If your truck came with 31's with v6 from factory you might be on 4.56 gears. Which will work with 33's. Are you manual tranny or auto? You will notice a difference more with the manual if you are running bigger tires than your gearing is set up for. Anyway..hope this helps...if you wanna go big...check out Seans runner in the pic section of this board. He is running 37's...oh yeah Snorkles..im using safari...no complaints...saved my truck a few times diving into holes.

Thanks snorkleman ;D The guy I bought the car off put on the 31's, so I'm not sure what it was standard... the spare is very close to that, so I'm guessing it must be? As far as gearing goes, it's a 2.8L diesel (5 speed manual)... does that help you out at all when trying to figure out what gears I am running? Thanks again mate...

;D Hey Mate!!! What we really need to figure out your gears(if they're still factory) is the #'s off of the body/firewall plate. Should be a G2...or G4... code. Later...

Ahhh running a diesel are we?... You must be down under.. Anyway..yeah check your VIN with the sutff listed in the articles section to get your gearing. That will tell you a lot about what you will have to do when going up in tires. If you cant find it and want to find out the hard way... pull your rear diff and start counting teeth. you wil then divide the large number by the small number..hence 35 on ring...10 on pinion...3.50-1 gearing...Good luck

An easy way to figure out you gearing without pulling the pumpkin is to jack up and block one end of the truck. Mark the tire so you know where it started and turn the driveshaft until the tire has gone one full reveloution. If the driveshaft turned slightly over 4 times it's 4:10, if it turned 4 and half times it's 4:56, just under 5 rotations 4:88 ect..
