Hey guys, I'm new to this site so I jusdt thought id say whats up. I own an 87 yota pickup with 4 inch lift and 31s all terrains. Also has bull bar and roll bad with lights. I will get pics up as soon as I can. I also have my first question. My truck was rusting pretty bad on the chassis so today i took off the bed and realized i have majopr work to do. the frame is rusted out near the leaf spring perches and on the insides of the frame. They are complete holes. My right perch is hanging there! and can easilyt be broken off. IM lucky i foubnd this soon. Is all this repairable with welding or a waste of my time?

Hey man welcome....
I've never actually done the frame work so take this with a grain of salt...
I would think you could clean out the rust and then box the frame in areas where it needs it. I heard guys doing this before. Just make sure it is stout so your not up a creek with a snapped rear hanger. If you don't want to do a frame swap it looks like securing what ya got is the only other option

HEY Duder I have to second Snorkelman's advice.I have read where others have boxed the frame around rust too.It (of course) depends on How much rust you have & where it's at.I would seek the advice of a seasoned professional Welder. While your looking for Rust check out the frame around the gas tank & read my artricle about Rust control on Toyota trucks. It is found in the Articles/Info section of this website.
