Today was a sh*tty day. My Toy broke down. I started it, put it in first gear, started to pull out my drive and it died. It will turn over but it won't start. I'm hoping it is the plug wires or the distributor cap but chances are it's the fuel pump. I dont know I wanted to get your take on it and see if there is anything else it could be. B/c if it is ont the dist. cap we all know what that means. I really do not want to take the gas tank off, plus I dont know how to change one if I do .. But im sure I could figure it out with some HELP!! ..... any suggestions....?

Yeah I would run through all the easy stuff before pulling the fuel pump. Could be a lot of things at this point till you start looking into it. Let us know what you find and if we can help at all.

Dont know what year toy you have and what motor. Try starting fluid if it starts Check for fuel and then the pump Check for spark, if no spark Make sure the rotor is turning. If its not turning.... Bad NEWS Rgds, Dennis

Dude it could be a lot of things. I would first check on stuff like Dennis mentioned. Check for spark, wires, plugs, rotor, and such. Also what year and type of engine are we talking about. That info would also help. You will probably find the problem after checking the normal stuff. Also what is the mileage? All that info helps when diagnosing a problem. All we know right now is you got a toyota truck that wont start but cranks...

;D Like Yoda said, the 1st thing I do when a no-start rolls in the door is take starting fluid or 2+2 & see if it'll run on that. If it does, you got a fuel problem. If not, gotta dig further. Try this 1st & let us know. Later...

Its a 92 4x4 deluxe with the 22-re engine. It has 150000 miles and im pushing 33 x 12.5 Coopers so needless to say Im downshifting alot. Im going to get some starter fluid today and see maybe if it is a gas problem. Thanks

Ok I put a new roader, plugs, plug wirers and distibutor cap. No start I pulled the cap off to see if the roader was spining and it was. I also took a spark plug out and put it against the engine and I had no spark. im guessing that it is the ignition module. I know its not the fuel pump or the timing chain.. I just dont know if theres anything else it could be. Thanks JB

;D Have you got a manual? If not, buy 'em all!!! Sounds like it's coming down to coil, igniter or ECM. But you need the "trouble trees" to run down the problem. I don't have a scanner so I'm no help there. You are into high $$$ items so the "shotgun" approach is over. Later...
