i gotta 91 toy v6 4x4.. its got the auto locking hubs, shift on the fly.. my truck is under right now, my hub bearings are all screwed up, cv joint is busted, and my axle is angled really weird, causing much stress.. a guy at the shop i took my truck into recommended converting to locking hubs.. to do that, do i need the locking hub conversion kit as well as the locking hubs? and is this something i could do on my own, or would it be better to take into a shop? thanx for the help.. ---aloha

thanx for the help.. my toy is a 91, so that would be the ADD and not the Auto Hub right? if thats the case, would i have to go about installing the manual locking hub differently?

Jerry's right. Just go pick up a set from the wrecker. Make sure they are for 86-95 IFS equipped trucks and 4runners and you are good to go. Warn also makes replacements but they eliminate the cone washers which keep the hub centered at all times. I have a set of warns collecting dust from before the sas. Price wise and strength wise you are better to go with used Aisin's.(stock)

I just sold a set of AIsen hubs to a guy doing the same thing your asking about. Its an easy easy swap.
