i have a 89 toyota 4wd pickup. ifs that is which sucks. but what is the easiest way to remove just the diff to take off the oil pan. i need the diff gone completely to do the rod bearings. please help.

well there isnt really an easy way. i would guess pull the axles off then just undo the driveshaft, next undo the brackets that hold it up. thats im pretty sure the only way without pulling the engine. i did my oil pan like that.

i took out the brackets that hold up the diff. but did u pull out the half shafts. can u unbolt the half shafts from the axle housing. i still have the half shafts connected to the nuckles. i have the oil pan off with out taking the diff out but i need more room so i can do the bearings.
