Alright, i know there are tons of engine swap threads, but oh well here's another one. I've bajaed my truck out and am in need of a new engine for my 93 yota p/u 2wd w/ a 22re, and i was wondering what would be a good V6 to put in there, and if possible if there were super charger kits for that engine, and of course the cost. Also i'm running 31x10.5 tires now and i'm thinking of getting 33x12.5 mickey thompsons and m/t 15x10 wheel with thread lockers, anyways, my truck is geared at 5.67 for the 31's and i was also wondering if i would need to re gear after going 2" larger... thanx

The best v6 that I have heard of is the GM V6 . the H.O version of the 4.3 is good for around 200 horse. That should help with the baja. Keep on crushin!

You could try the 3.4L toyota v6 for around $3200. The new versions of this engine pump out 190hp, but you will probably be buying the older model with 165hp or so. TRD does make a supercharger for the 3.4L that adds a claimed "75 horses". Take a look...but GM 4.3L is cheaper.

Local Toyota wrecker quoted me 1200 CDN for the 3.4 with wiring harness computer and all neccesary sensors.
If you go with a 4.3 you might as well go with a 350 instead, better all round motor. The chevy V6 is a poorly designed block, basically a chev small block with two cylinders hacked off. I have a friend who is on his third one in his little Jimmy, I would'nt touch one with a ten foot pole.

The vortec 4.3L v6 is the best you can do when swapping in

I agree on the vortec v6. Have a friend who swapped in one for his 87 runner. Good motor, les fuel drinking than a v8, good power.

I guess if I was going to swap out my 22re I'd probley go with the 4.3 and 700r4 combo. Before I bought my toy I owned two different s-10 p/u's, both had the 4.3 vortec. One was a 5speed and the other a fourspeed auto. I never really had any problems with either and both had 150,000+ miles when I got rid of them(wrecked one, sold one) and neither leaked anything. The hp to fuel economy was just right for me in that size truck. Just my experiance though, and there is alot of info and parts out there for this swap.....pretty common.
