Any suggestions on how to get a 1989 V6 out of park? What could cause this? It will not move. Thanks.

Jeez, now you can't shift from Park? I take it the lever doesn't move at all.. cannot remember if units that old had a brake interlock switch (requiring the brake pedal be held down to shift from Park).. if yours does, that may be what's failed...

Oh, yeah, if you're parked on a steep incline, that can do it, too, putting the weight of the vehicle on the parking pawl in the tranny. If that's the case, use another vehicle (or a couple of big guys) to push the vehicle uphill an inch or two, then shift out of Park (used to have a Dodge that would do that on even the slightest of inclines).. use the parking brake on hills if you haven't already been doing so...
