Do you guys think I would need to change my gearing from 4:10's if i bump up to 33's? I am currently running 31's on a beefed up Rancho suspension system and they dont rub. How much of a power loss would I experience with 33's? I have the 5 speed man. Also would you guys recomend a 2-3 inch body lift to fit the 33's? thanks

I have a 94 with a 3" body lift and 33x12.5x15 super swampers..... I have noticed some lack of power with normal driving. However it's no problem in 4 low. Some people change their gears....I haven't yet. I put a cam in from NWOR which seemed to help some. I would put a body lift in if you don't want to trim your fenders...but that's up to you. I still rub some (on the mud flaps) if I crank the wheel all the way in reverse. Hope this helps.

Most people don't regear for 33's, they just deal with the slight power loss (myself included). Usually they just wait until they go with even bigger tires, at which point you need to regear. That is also a good time to add lockers, because it is a lot cheaper to go into the 3rds one time only. If you do it in 2 steps, you pay the big labor $ twice. I went from 33s/stock 4.10s to 37s/ARBed 5.29s. Just think about your long term goals and start putting away the $ for the final decision.

how good of gas mileage do you get with the 33. I'm just wondering. I went from 235/75/15 to 31-11.50-15 and noticed a huge difference in the horsepower. I cant turn the tires in fourhigh as well as before. the truck is a 86 extra cam 22re 5sp top speed is only 85. whats up with that?

I just put a 2" body lift onto my 94 Pickup w/ a 22RE and I was actually surprised that with stock gears, it was not too noticeably different. I mean, it is a little more sluggish, but not enough to go out and spend the money on regearing to solve. I don't have any exhaust or engine mods either. My gas mileage decreased a little, but not by more than like a mile per gallon or so. I have done some highway and city driving since installing the tires on Friday and overall I'm happy.
