If you had in the area of 300 to 400 bucks to spend on the engine what would you do performance wise to this engine? Its a 4X4 with 31 inch wild country RVT's. 5spd transmission. Im looking for a little more power out of the engine. Please give me some advise.

I've always wanted to try a jacobs ignition, either the pro street or offroad. Supposed to increase horsepower and torque and improve gas milage.
I could swear i read a magazine review of one recently but can't remember where.
I know I read a review ages ago on the pro-street on the 3.0l v6 and it increased HP by almost 10 and torque a little more than 6. Once again I don't remember where but it was on the net. Also don't know how it'd work on the 22re.
Don't know if either are meant for a 22re but if I ever decide to try, I'll talk to them a good deal first.

I think the most common starting point is a header and low restriction exhaust.
A better ignition is also a good idea, but I have never heard any good comments about Jacobs products, just negative ones. Heard positive things about MSD though.

to help you horse power i would start with the basics. K&N filter, hedder, exhaust system.
i just put a hedder on my 91 yota. i nodiced a huge difference. I got mine from northwest off road it was spendy but well worth every pennie.
