Yesterday afternoon i desided to take the engine out of my Runner to clean it and the engine bay. Then started thinking of swaping in an engine. Not sure of either a Turbo Supra engine, or a 5.0. But i still need to save up to get either one. Right now i have a 3.0 auto. I wanna keep the auto, but i cant find any bellhousing adapters. The only adapter ive been able to find is a 302 to 5 speed toyota bellhousing adapter for G-52,G-54,G-58, and W-56 trannys at NorthWestOffRoad. Will any of these be able to bolt on to my A340H? Also, i think i need to go with a 164 tooth flywheel. but will it bolt on to a toyota torque converter? Has anybody done a 5.0 to Yota auto swap. If so please let me know. BTW How much could i get for my 3.0 if i wanted to sell it?

;D I did all the research on swapping out the 3.0L. 2 years ago & basically, anyone w/an auto is screwed!!! The Chevy or Ford swap is out for sure. I think the Supra swap can be done w/work. You COULD go total custom on an adapter. To be honest, I gave up after trying for months to find info. I'm really not up for fabbing an entire drivetrain when there's SOOOO much else to be done. I have a complete, 92 3.0L. sitting under a trailer @ work. Most people tell me it would make a nice anchor for the boat! ;D Later...

yes i know what u mean, every time i get the idea of swapping i end up with nothin that im happy with. More than likey ill end up with a chevy and tranny. I found an adapter at AdvanceAdapters to mate a chain drivin transfercase to a transmission i have laying around in my carport, which is a 2wd 4L60E. So might just end up with a Z28engine or if i can find on a Corvette, but with distributor-less ignition so i dont have to worry about firewall clearance. But still if anybody finds an adapter please let me know. Thanx

I did two 5.0 swaps last year, one on a 94 and the other on an 85. The 94 we took the 5.0 and 5sp from the mustang and used it. Went with an adaptor to a model 20 to make it divorced. Seems to work really well. On the 85 we did a 5.0 with a t-18 and married model 20.
Just some thoughts. Rgds, Dennis

I can get pic's of the 94 yoda. The 85 is no longer in town. i did that for an out of state guy.
The engine was out of an 89 Mustang, We kept the FI and ordered the harness from Painless. Nothing but problems and error codes that we couldnt get to go away. Finally opted to change over to carb and WOW what a difference.
