The 4cylinder engines came with Gear drive TC and the V6 came with a chain drive. So which ever one you have is what you got. Funny thing is the gear driven ones are more durable but they put a chain drive on the v6. There are adaptors to switch in a gear drive case. They don't make many reduction kits for chain drive cases.

;D FYI, I did a major investigation into this a few months ago. There are a few adapters for the manual trans. There are NO adapters to put a gear drive case on an Auto. EASILY!!!! If it's a 5 speed, you're home free. If it's auto, Marlin has a conversion w/big $$$. Inchworm gear can provide the adapter but you're on your own for the x-member, driveshafts... Good luck. The adaptor for a gear drive is around $350 and you can score a gear TC for around $75 - $125. Not that much if your really wanting to get away from it. heck I got a gear drive TC sitting around here somewhere. Later
