I know I hate to ask this because it will open up a big can of worms, but what would be the best lift for me. I am an everyday driver with 32's and no lift. For a while I was happy with the look of my truck but I need more. I can decide what would be best (for preformance and looks) for my truck. I have an 87 and only wheel once a month so I don't want to go huge, maybe 3 inch suspension or 2 inch body.

;D Looks?? 4Crawler(Roger Brown) will make whatever body lift you want. Trim it stock & 33's fit. For a mild wheelin' rig, not much is needed. What are your goals? Later...

Well you did open a can of worms. The first part being life as a poor student. Unfortunately this sport of upgrading your truck can be a money pit. Especially if you don't do the work yourself. If you wanna go cheap throw on a body lift. It can help ya out and 2" of lift doesn't show a whole lotta frame.
We have all had to crunch the pennies to work on the truck and it never seems to stop. You might ask yourself, if my truck works for me now, why do i need to go bigger. I'll probably get flogged for saying don't go bigger, but the truth is there are some more worthy upgrades that could help you out. Before you start liftin for looks, check on the advantage of a locker (aussie lockers goin cheap so i hear), topper for campin, better tires, steel wheels (cheap and look good), engine upgrades to make the thing last longer. Remember this rig has to get you through school. I've seen some slick trucks on 32's just because they put on useful stuff. Not tryin to be your dad but just making sure you have looked at all the options your money will buy.
Lifts are cool but I have seen some stockers equipped with a locker and good tires that went almost everywhere. Good luck man on whatever you choose.

Welcome to my world... the life of a poor college student. All throughout looking at lifts, I always told myself I would never get a body lift to fit the 33's that I've always wanted on my truck. Well, that didn't last too long, I ended up buying a 2" Performance Accessories body lift for my truck. I got a good deal on the lift because I found it in JC Whitney for $67 and got 4WheelParts to match that price ( I am not a big fan of JCW). So, there is an idea for a lift for you from someone who is in your same financial situation, although I haven't installed the lift yet (next week it will be) to tell you how it goes.

It sounds like you are more concerned with looks. If you are really concerned with capability check out an Aussie locker for your rear diff. It will make way more difference (no pun intended) than a couple inches more tire or height.

Nope, not an ARB. Its a new auto locker like the lock right. But supposedly is cheap and works well.
