I just replaced the oil in my tranny & transfer case, and it's a bit stiff untill it warms up. What type/weight of oil do you use?? I dont have the service manual yet, so I think I put too heavy of an oil in it for severe cold weather. Do any of you use synthetics? What type(s) do you use?
I tried to search for this and I couldnt get any matches.

I use standard 80-90weight gear oil. Works on everything pretty good. Yeah when its really cold in the morning the tranny is stiff but thats just cause its cold at first start. Once it warms up it works fine.
Never used the synthetic stuff. I do use synthetic motor oil. Just cause I abuse my motor by forgetting to add oil sometimes. I also forget how long it has been since last oil change. Knowing it has synthetic makes me feel at least a little better. I also use synthetic cause my engine has been rebuilt. If it were a older engine I would stick with regular oil. The sythetic stuff tends to knock loose deposits that are keeping leaks from happening.

;D It will be stiff @ first. I just checked & the Manual calls for 75W90. Try to find that!! 80W90 is fine. You just gotta take it easy for a few when it's cold. Later...
