I saw this article in my local paper Some idiots are giving off roading a bad name and i dont usually get mad but as an avid law abiding mobber, i dont like people thinking i destroy the environment when i go to designated areas to mob, not in someone's backyard www.mailtribune.com/archive/2004/0111/local/stories/13local.htm

As responsible off-roaders, it is extremely important that we take every action we can to ensure that these "bad seeds" don't ruin a good sport. Who can blame law-enforcement for looking down on off-roaders when you see crap like this. These idiots snip barbed wire, break through gates, and ignore posted signs to go off roading when there is a legal park nearby. To find out what you can do about these types of situations, visit the BlueRibbon Coalition at www.sharetrails.org and Tread Lightly at www.treadlightly.org and find out more!

Yeah stuff like that definately frustrates me. I did however like the fact that the land mgmt guy said, "Shrader will tell you it’s a small minority of off-road enthusiasts who are tearing up the land. He figures most off-road vehicle enthusiasts — estimating more than 85 percent — obey posted signs." Most the times they present a bad picture of off-roaders. It was nice to hear them present the facts. Of course the number is still too high of off roaders that break the law.

I agree snokle... I've seen some of these bad apples and they make feel like shooting them some times...or at least a tire or four (five if they have a spare) .
We did disable some kid's trucks once while they were about 100 feet off the designated trail. The kids where running around some where. We never saw them until about a half hour after we disable their rides. The trail went through forest land so we called the forestry on the CB. They showed up about 20-30 minutes after the kids came back. We handed the two rangers the roters to the kid's trucks when they got their. Not sure what ever happened with the kids, but hopefully they learned a lesson if anything.
BTW it was kind of fun watching them trying to get their trucks to start again. I wish I could have been closer though when the rangers handed them the rotors just to see the look on their faces.

there isn't only one park near by, but 3; Johns Peak OHV, the white city ponds/sports park, and the Klamath Sports park are all within an hour of each other, and thanks for the links, i'll look into them.

LOL Thats too funny. Now thats being proactive. ;D That's kindda the reason how I got deemed with the "oxy-moron" of DEADLYPEACE. I've always been a really nice, easy to get along with kind of person, but when you piss me off or I see something I don't like, like that, then there's a good chance that something's going to happen. ;D

hello the article you read is bull my property backs up to green top or the end of worthington the whole story is bogus to a point it not the 4 wheelers who are doing this it mostly happning during hunting season this site used to be open untill about 2 years ago then with the help of a huge ranch that will remain unnamed he got it closed off so hunters go around the gates to get up there my property backs up to it so i have people cutting my fences down all the time but if you ever want to mud it up just give me a message ive got some of the biggest mud bog pits on my property

;D Mobber, I appreciate you bringing this up. When I lived in CO., all anybody asked was to close the gate & stay on the trail. Seems like there's some who don't get it. My fav. quote is when they issued tickets to jackasses. Mongo, assuming(I have to) your story is true, WHY THE HELL aren't you doing "something"? (I have to be legal here...read into it what you will) If I owned property outsiders were trashing, my solution wouldn't be as brilliant or nice as Deadly's. JMHO ;D ;D Later...

I just like keeping them form going so that the owners, in this case the forestry, could do as they please with them. Besides they weren't doing anything wrong that I know of other then being off the trail. If it was your property I'd do the same unless I had your permission to take action for you. Now if it was my property and they were tearing it up then they wouldn't be taking their trucks home and wouldn't be walking home either....or at least not walking normally. ;D

no problem fred, it just pissed me off and i wanted to see how other's felt about it. i always lock gates after going through them, and if i dont have a key, i dont go around them. But for everyone who doesnt know that about me, and see's me and my muddy runner, they think that i tore up that land, or i am destroying the forests. the fact is, if they were destroyed, it was long before i ever got there and i dont plan on doing any damage. but that 15% of mobbers is the only thing that newspapers report on, so people are biased. they dont hear about how clubs clean up trails, or how savages like deadly call the forestry on people who arent respecting the land.

;D Back in '92, A supposed "buddy" of mine went off-trail on top of the Divide. Pretty much destroyed a good bit of tundra. As far as I know, he's STILL banned from rides. As far as I'm concerned, we have one shot. We need to make right. Later...
