I had previously talked about putting on 33 inch tires on my 89 base V6 5sp 4runner. I decided against it an bought some 15x8 steel wheels and some 31x10.5 15 monarch MS tires. I have sagging rear end on my truck and want to pick it up and gain some clearance. All I can find for a suspention Lift kits are 4" or bigger. I want 3" max and was wondering if I could just install new lift Leafs and shocks and p[ossiply some new aftermarket torsion bars. I don't know what lift this would accomplish but better performance?? And I also was wondering about the long term effects of a body lift? Corrosion? Cracking?

I believe Pro-Comp makes a 3.25 uspension lift for your truck. You can also do a rear add a leaf to get equal ride hieght and a little more stiffness in the rear. I know performanceproducts.com list a procomp lift for your truck. Take a look.

An option I'm going to be going with as soon as I can make it back home is an add-a-leaf to fix the sag, I'm only going back to stock height for now but if you want some lift out of it you can mix and match out of another pack until you get it where you want. Just grab a couple packs out of a junk yard. Also I am going to be installing Roger Browns 1" body lift for a little extra clearance. I've only got 31's for now, but plan on upgrading gears and tires all at once when I've saved up enough. I've researched both these fairly extensively and have found no reports of bad long term effects on a quality properly installed body lift. Good Luck finding what works for ya!

I Looked into the the 3.25 lift you were talking about, but it was still a 4" that was just the length of the bolts. I think I 'm decided on just cleaning up my factory suspention and adding some better shocks and a 2" body lift. what are sugestions about gap gaurds?

gap gaurds are good... body lifts do work and a 2" one is hard to notice anyway. Should work good for ya. So long as you don't get bit by the lifting bug and want to keep going higher
