TEXTI am going to do a 1" torsion bar crank soon and I am thinking of making some custom shackels. the rear of my rig has a little bit of sag mabie a 1/2" or so. I plan on doing the crank first and then seeing how long I need to make the shackels. I plan on making the shackels out of 1/4" mild steel that is the thickness of the stock ones. or maybie 5/16" . I will only need to go about 1 1/2 to 2" longer than stock. I plan on putting in new bushings. any suggestions?

Your plan sounds good, just remember the actual amount of lift = 1/2 the length of the shackle (eye-to-eye), so 2" longer than stock (e-t-e) will give you 1" additional lift. Since you're going +1" up front and your rear is sagging, you may need >1" in the back.
