Got my K&N Filter charger in yesterday and installing it today. I was reading through the instuctions and it says "Not recomended for use with body lift installed"
Does anyone have the K&N F/C with a body lift? Are the just saying that because the hoses will be to short once the body gets lifted? Does it effect the performance by kinking the hose or something? Or is it possible to cure this by just extending the hoses?
A body lift is in my future, thats why the concern. Thanks in advance....

I don't have one, but can't think of anything other than what you've mentioned. I can't see how extending hoses could do harm.

I agreee with fourwd. And if they are to short or kink, or what-have-you, I'm sure you or someone here could you give some ideas on how to do a small mod for it. I've a fair amount of K&N filter system modified.
NOTHING IS EVER PERMANENT!!!

I have a 3" body lift on my 86 x-tra cab and no problems. the intake hose fits fine. I dont know why they put that stuff on there. When I got my body lift it said that the lift was not recommeded/or is not for off road use or some crap like that. I think all the guys will agree with me. BAJA would be the only kind of offroading that I would not recommend a body lift for. Come to think of it I didnt really even notice a difference with it. When I put on my body lift I ws putting on a new cab at the sama time. I rolled it. It was a freak accident.

Thanks! What I noticed after I installed it yesterday That the support brackets that bolt right to the inner fender would in turn raise the whloe element up with the body lift. You can't modify the brackets becase the the Filter itself would hit the body, the only thing I see that will happen is the hoses will now be angled upward, but shouldn't affect anything more than if it was a stock air box.
By the way the K&N is all right, nice throaty noise, little acceleration pick up. Not sure if it's worth the cash though.
Thanks again!
