i am thinking about try yotatech.com's intake silencer removal mod for the 3.0 v6 4runner, has anyone else tried doing this, i have a pickup with the 3.0 v6 not a 4runner and i was wondering if there is any big differences? www.yotatech.com/~corey/tech/techpage5.htm

My brother in law has a fourbanger mustang and it has one. Its just a baffle in the intake hose. I told him to take oit out. I would try it it cant hurt anything.

while i am half way done with the mod, i took apart the intake hoses, and fittied the ducting to get the correct bend, and for now until i get the pipe bent for me. i am running the stock setup without the scilencer box, hole taped up, and the hose running to it plugged. so far so good, just the removale of the box has made the 3.0 rev much happier, and on the cold start this morning the engine didn't race as high during warm up as before, about 3-400 rpms lower
