'93 22RE
I was changing my oil this afternoon and decided I was going to replace the PCV valve. But that old one is stuck in there, I even clamped on with pliars, turned and pulled up to no avail. Is the rubber gromet around it suppose to come off as well? I dont think it should be that tight, I didn't want to break anything by keeping on going. Any trick you guys know about, or what could be causing this simple task to be a pain in my ass? Thanks in advance.

I have actually had that same problem, I am assuming its a 22RE? The first time I replaced it I had to get a pair of pliers and a block of wood and actually use the wood as a fulcrum for leverage to get it out. After some serious tugging it came out. When it came out, I noticed that the gromet was a little cracked, but I just left it in there. I replaced the valve again and had to do the same thing as above to get it out the 2nd time around. So, it does take some tugging, but nothing was damaged in the end on mine.

Thanks NCSU....It was getting dark + fustrating...but I'll attempt to do that next time, definatley need some sort of leverage. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't going to damage anything by tugging on it so hard.
