I have an 89 yota p/u with a 22re. I just changed the spark plug wires, coil wire, and distributor cap, along with a new timing chain. I also decided to change the spark plugs. However, i started with the #1 spark plug, and only got it about half way out until it stopped turning. I couldn't budge it. I'm afraid the head is stripped, and I don't want to put too much force on it and really screw things up. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if so, any advice would be appreciated. Later........

Did you try to screw it in again and then try to remove it ? Sprey some WD-40 or penetrating oil around it and let it sit a while and try to remove it. Other than that I dont know what to tell you. I have never heard of this before. I have heard of snapping of plugs and stripped threads. I think if the threads were striped you would just keep on spinning the plug. Other then that Good Luck.

Yea do what 86 said, add some penetrating oil try BERRYMAN its in like a metal white container sold at auto and o'rellys. Screw the spark plug back in and then poor some of that Berryman and let it set. After awhile i would say between half and hour and an hour, Then try to take it out again. BTW have u changed the plugs before on that engine or this the first time u did it to it??

Alright I'll try that. I bought the truck a year ago, and I figured I'd change them because I don't know when's the last time they were changed. They look pretty old. Thanks for the help.
