I'm looking at body lifts, and my 4runner is 5 hours away right now. Does anybody know if the 1988 4runners have rack and pinion steering? If it does, then I'm going to go ahead and order the steering extension for it.

Rack and pinion steering didnt come on toyotas till '96. As for the steering, the steering shaft has like an adjuster its near the master cylinder. un bolt it before u do the body lift, and should extend by it self, then afterwards u just tightn it up again. but if u want then yea just order the extension
