For 33's 4.88 gears would work good. If you plan to get bigger tires in the future then a set of 5.29 gear would be good.
Also check here for more info www.toyotaoffroad.com/Articles/GearFAQ.htm
NOTE:If you plan to do any rock crawling then don't go any higher then 5.29 gears no matter what size tire you plan to use. The reason why is cuz the gears start to get too thin and they can break or shatter.

You will loose a little top speed and use 5th gear a little less, but most people find they can live with it. Try it w/stock 4.10 gears a while and then decide. You might find you want to go to larger tires, and/or add lockers, and you only want to go into the diffs once and do it all then. The labor $$ is a big chunk of the cost, so you don't want to have to pay for labor more than once, unless your rich.

yeah, likely less of a problem. I haven't ever driven the Toyota V6 so I am not sure exactly how its effected. I have a 4cyl with 33's and stock 4.10 gears and don't mind how it drives. It didn't change drastically after the lift and tires from how it was before.

I drove for years with 33's and a 22R (carbed), which has even less HP than the 22RE 4 cyl most people have. If you have an auto or factory 31" tire package you will be geared other than 4.30's also.
