While in the process of fixing a headgasket on my 94 22-re, there is another concern i need to fix. I have a crack in my exhaust, on the header pipe, about 3 inches below the point where it attaches to the header. the crack goes, from what i can tell, all the way around, if not held together on the bottom part. I don't have the funds to replace the header pipe, and by the looks of it, i would really just replace the entire exhaust system itself. For a temporary fix, 2 months of limited driving, can i JB Weld that until i can afford to correctly address the problem? or is there another way to do this?

I tried that one time to try to help an exhaust leak. In my experience it got way to hot and just re-melted the jbweld! It did not work at all.

I would not mess with the JB weld it wont take the heat. There is a exhaust/muffler wrap that is supposed to mend holes etc.. The best thing is to weld it. If you cant get that done look for something at the parts store.

quick and dirty way to fik it: a piece of sheetmetal wrapped around the pipe and secured with some of the screw-tight hose clamps, if it's in a bend, well, there are wraps that you can get, but the surface usually has to be clean.. I don't know about you, but my exhaust hasn't been clean since the day it was put on. Good luck, let us know how it goes.
