Hey guy's, I figured I would get you opinions and advice before I jump into this... I want a little more power out of my pre runner. It is mainly used for freeway driving (184 miles a day - commute to work), and then on logging roads and such on my time off, with a little mud mixed in sometime...
Anyway, here is my dilema.... I was debating about a turbo, but don't know how difficult that would be to install.. can I get one from another toyota, or would aftermarket be better? Are they difficult to install and set up? How about a header for them, is it different?
The other option I thought of was an engine swap. I heard that there is another toyota motor that will bolt up to the 5 speed trans I have behind my 22re, is that true, what is it out of, and what kind of power would I be looking at?
Any other suggestions? Thanks for the input!!!

Who makes a turbo for a toyota trucks? I looked for one for my 3.0l and came up short. Anyways, I'd do a swap. The tacoma 3.4 bolts right up I've heard. If you get one of these, you can get the supercharger with it. Stock, they have around 190hp, supercharger goes around 260hp or something. I always thought the supra engines were an inline 6. Are they? They thought of more room with a v-6 seems better to me.

Sorry to burst ur bubble but no one makes anykind of turbo or supercharger kit for 3.slows. If u want any kind of forced induction it has to be custom made, POSSIBLE YES, ive seen it done. Ok for the 3.4L swap it will bolt on if ur doing the swap on a 3.0L, if its a 4cyl you have to make motor mounts, yea i've read the article on 4x4wire. Yes again supras are inline 6.
