I dont know if anyone has done this before but when I put my 3" body lift on I extended my shifters. I just took thm out cut it and welded in a piece of 1/2" x 3" long round stock on both of them. So they are at stock height. I would recommend doing 1 at a time. I had kind of a pain in the ass because I did them both at the same time and had to adjust them a little.

yeah, I did that when I put my body lift on. My lift was 2" and came with the extensions. Only problem with mine was that now my transfer case shifter goes farther back and the boot is limited in its flex, so it pops out of 4H all the time. I had to cut a slit half way down the back of the boot so that it could stay into gear. Its annoying and is cosmetically unappealing, but only other option is to get another boot. I haven't found any aftermarket boots I like yet, those leather ones are ugly in my opinion. I don't want to spend the money to get the shifter that have a shorter throw either.

yep I have the same problem... but me it,s not the 4x4 shifter , it's the normal shifter. If I don't put a minimum pressure (just for putting in 2nd and 4th gear) when shifting it pops out.
I'm also trying to get a cool boot but I don't want to get something that says that's a mean truck... but not to the extreme... if you find somthing col let us now.
Thanks again

I had the same problem with my transmisson shifter too with a 3" body lift. What I did was cut the center piece off the boot hold down plate. This solved the problem with the it getting thrown out of 2nd and 4th gear.....BUT, it still rips the boot in time (about 4 months). I plan to make my own short throw shifter in the near future to correct this problem.

My transfercasr shifter pops out of fourhigh so I took a bunjee cord and hooked it my driverside seat inthe back and I just hook it around the shifter to keep it in. Hey it works I really didnt want to cut the boot. I dont like drafts in the winter time.

Yeah, I should've done something like that instead of cutting my boot. I thought about it, but didn't do it for some reason. Then one day on a trail I tried to put it in 4H and it kept popping out, so I got pissed and just cut the boot. I guess you could call me someone who does things on impulse... didn't really think it through.
