My fuel gauge is accurate until about half a tank is left, and then it is all over the place usually indicating that my tank is bone dry. It is a 88 4x with a 22re. What could be the cause of this and how should I go about fixing it? Any help is appreciated!!

Sounds like it could be the fuel gauge sending unit in the tank. I've never had this problem before, but this sounds like a possibility.

Sounds to me like its the float sticking in your tank. I have never had mine apart . I have had many apart on Chevys. If it was hte sending unit I dont think ypur gas guage would read at all.

I've got the same problem. It's a sending unit problem, I'm almost sure.

It could be the float sticking. But the float is part of the sending unit. I meant the whole thing.
