Well...as a clutch burner myself the only time I have to burn some is when i need to go real slow. I pull the parking brake out some to keep forward momentum down, then use the clutch to determine how fast i need to go. This can be remedied by putting in some crawling gears. Check out marlincrawler.com . The lower gears help maintain your engine torque and speed over big obstacles. It does cost a pretty penny to do this but well worth it if your worried about toasting a clutch. ;D

Well, this won't help break your habit, but i suggest a Centerforce Dual Friction II clutch. i did some climbing in my '88 and burned up my stock clutch real good on every run. After the Centerforce was installed, i noticed a much stiffer pedal, and more grab. It didn't burn up nearly as fast as the stock... actually, i don't remember every getting it to burn (mild wheeling though). ;D
