I'm pushing a 02 Runner and want to get rid of these said accessories...are there any tricks to taking these suckers off? Thanks.

Where are you located? If you have to deal with winters (especially salty roads in the winter), rust may be the only "trick". Make friends with the solvent PB Blaster. Soak the bolts over night then pop them off... should be fairly straight foward.

I was planning to remove mine too until one day I found after sliding sideways into a barrier that the nerf bars had prevented any dammage to the side of my truck..
mine are also welded in place, I dont' know if this was stock but the only way i could think of to get them off without risking the frame was to cut them. sawzall, or a torch would be best I think..

Yeah most of those hitches are bolted on. The step bars, or mud shelves should be bolted on as well. Get an impact gun and go at it. If they are welded on then a sawzaw is probably your cleanest bet. Torching them off can be messy and a pain not to burn other junk while your at it. Unless of course you have a plasma cutter.. ;D

Just something to think about... I have an aftermarket trailer hitch on my rig and it has saved my rear bumper from damage several times.
