Welcome-You need to do some wheeling! ;D What kind of wheelin are you intested in? We have mudders, rock crawlers, trail riders from mild to wild & everything in between here at TOR.Your inquiry needs to be more specific. What are the areas like that you want to wheel in? A lot of folks go out to their local trails and wheel a bit,to get an idea of what they want to do with their truck.Usually it all starts with getting some nice size tires & modifying suspension or lifting body for clearance, changing gears in the Diffs(to correct for larger tires),& adding a traction device-lockers,limited slips, ect. How is your 4Rnr equipped now?

Dang starting out with an 02 4runner is one nice way to start out. If I were you I would add a locker to the rear.. a mild lift..some sliders...and all-terrains. Then hit some mild trails and enjoy that pristine ride of yours.

I've got a 96 and I was once in the same boat. Hit some mild trails with some people you know and trust (i.e. people that won't push you to do harder trails than you want). Get it on the trail a few times, then decide what kind of mods to do to suit the types of trails you run. Regardless, your first mod should be to remove the running boards (if you have them). Next I would add some decent tires - BFG ATs or Bridgestone Dueler ATs if you want something with good road manners, or bump up to MTs if road manners aren't as important to you.

;D Welcome to TOR!!! I second the above posts. Remember, the 1st dent/scrape hurts the worse! ;D It gets easier to take after that. Later...
