so with 315,000 miles on my drivetrain, will an increase in HP tear it apart (say by a V-6 or V-8 engine swap)? how much HP can my tranny, diff take? all the components are still OE with 300K on them.

um... i wouldnt push it 315,000 is alot of miles  ... you should get it rebulit... if you rebulid it beef it up some |

The weakest link in the Toy drv trn is the tranny. If you swap in a non-Toy motor, swap in a matching auto or manual tranny with it.
One of the main reasons I swapped in the Buick 3.8/TH-350 was because of the POS Toy tranny.
