first thing i would like to say is that i view this site every day and used to post ?'s and answers awhile back. this is a good site and toyotas still rule. today was a very sad day for me cause my friend broke his leg under his ankle (THE HOLE FOOT MIGHT BE AMPUTATED) DUE TO A 4WHEELING ACCIDENT. 10/12/03 WE WERE AT ASUZA CANYON IN SO. CALIFORNIA TODAY ABOUT 330PM we where whooping it up in some mud and stuff and actually i was going up a berm or dirt ledge about 3 or 4 feet tall since my yota has a long wheel base i did not make it my buddy came over to rescue me in his 85 landcruiser but some else offered to pull me out so we agreed and he backed his bronco up to my truck since he had already backed up his trucked i agreed to let him pull me up the ledge.i wanted to be pulled from my rear bumper long story short the broncos old tube bumper came off and flew in the direction of my friends 7 year old son his reaction was fast and he some how got in front of his boy (thank GOD) and took the blow it was total chaos and i was running back and forth to my friend and back to my truck to check on my own boy whose only 6. within a minute of the accident a forest ranger appeared and notified the sheriffs and flew him out of the canyon within 15 minutes . he's gonna live but it could have been aloy worse. PLEASE just be careful out there with your family and friends cause a good time wheeling can turn ugly fast . as for me i dont think i want to go wheeling for along time.

;D AMEN!!! You're 1st instinct is usually right. You know your bud & his rig. You trust him & his equipment. I'm very selective when it comes to wheelin'. My wheelin' buddy, Swang, knows my truck is solid & I know his is too. Good advice, especially for the new ones to the sport. Hope all heals well & you guys get back on the trail soon. A little smarter ;D Later...

Thats crazy! We're getting ready to have a baby and I know I would be jumpin in the way of anything coming at my kid. Man I feel horrible when I hear a story like that. Tell your friend there is a guy out there praying his leg heals. Safety is a BIG DEAL and some times bad stuff happens.

Glad to here that your buddy's foot was saved. Hope he recovers ok from it and able to walk on it ok. Hope his son recovers form all this ok too.
I have a 16 year son that goes wheeling with me and I hate to have to jump in front of anything like that might cause some major body damage, but I know I'd have to do it to save someone else, espeically a kid, from getting hurt.
Hope all goes well and you, your friend, and your friend's son find a way to find yourselves back out on the trail. And if not you still have a great life and live it to it fullest.
