Body Lift

Just put a 3in. body on my 88, it turned out Ok, but I extended the gear shifters in the floor 3 inches too..Now they are too long...The rubber boot doesn't flex that much causeing second gear to pop out.. Also, it hits the 4wheel drive gear stick..So FYI guys, only extend that stick about 2 inches...I thought that since the body went up 3 inches, that the stick did too, but not in this case..

I just put a 3inch body lift on my 85 last weekend and I know what u are talking about. Like a dummy I cut my boot. Then I fixed it right by taking off the boot and take the 4 bolts out of the shifter plate. and it comes right out put it in a vise and put a piece of pipe on it and bend it like u are trying to put it in first. put it back in and it will be almost hiting the radio in first and 3rd but I like the way it feels. Or I here marlincrawler makes a shifter for it if you want to spend the doe.

imma cut it again this weekend and try 2 inches instead of 3 inches on it..I think that it will clear the 4 wheel drive stick then..Ill let you know...If not Ill by the one from Marlincrawler..Where can I find this place on the net?? Ive never heard of Marlin crawler

I found that site Marlin Crawler..They have some nice stuff on there too..But that stick is 150.00 dollars..They dont have the regular gear shifter either..Only the 4wheel drive stick..
