o.k. so what is the difference between a big bore throttle body and a throttle body spacer. which one is better? i was looking at lce and doa and they want around 350 for a big bore throttle body and a lot less for a spacer is the big bore worth it. it might be a dumb question but i dont want to waste any money on this rebuild. thanks

I don't think they make throttle body spacers for the pick ups/4 runners (85-95), they didn't start making them till 95.5+ vehicles. I could be wrong but I have not found any. So you will have to get a big bore throtlle body. I beleave doa's are the cheapest, lce and downey are same price. Most people seem to have the lce's though.

i know it's an old post but is it really worth getting the big bore TB if you dont port match the intake?

With the larger bore TB you will get a bit more CFM. These larger TB's come handy when larger injectors are used along with higher compression, larger cam, larger valves and better exhaust. It's one of those complimentary parts. Much like a chip. A chip is only going to do so much to a stock engine, but start modifing stock internals and you will get more out of the chip!
