Tomorrow im planning on replacing the distributor cap, rotor button, spark plugs, and wires on my pickup. Ive purchased all of the parts listed above. Im not very experienced with anything under the hood so I was wondering if there was anything I should be made aware of before I start this project.what are the steps I should take to make sure that the truck is running and everything is done correctly?
Is there any type of oil or lubricant that I need for the plugs or wire connections?
Any help would be appreciated

No, it's a pretty basic swap old parts with new ones. Just make sure your plugs are gap correctly. You can usually buy a plug gapping tool for about $1-$2 at any auto part store.

To keep from getting wires mixed up, replace one plug/wire at a time.
