I agree that the 5125 and the 5150 Series Bilstein shocks are good, but at about $75 (5125) or $100 (5150) each they can be pricey, but are well worth it.
Walker-Evans also make some good one, but if I remember right, the only ones worth buying don't start till around the $100 range.
If you're looking for something a little cheaper you could go for some Ranchos or SkyJackers. They're both fairly good shock for the price around $40 each.

My experience is pretty limited here. I have only run the bilstien 5125s and procomps mx-6s. The procomps were garbage, i would never buy another product from them again. The bilsteins have been great and they defiantely have the curb appeal.

The Bilstein 5150's are awesome. However, I don't think I would go for the 255/70 valving that most sites are selling. I have those on the rear of my truck. They have a far softer valving, 170/60, that is working much better on the front of my truck. I will probably be trying to send the 255/70 set back to the factory for re-valving. The 255/70 set is very stiff and I think it is set up for a far heavier truck than my 83.

I love my bilsteins. I used to run ranchos in my old ranger, total junk! For teh money they were alright, but if you run a lot of gravel roads it ate mine up pretty fast. I cant remember the valving on my bil's but I do know they are hella stiff which worked out well with my soft springs. After runnin the bilsteins I would have a hard time runnin any other brand. Remember..you get what you pay for. Especially in this dept.
