I just got the head gasket replaced on my 94..It runs great, but at idle it just dosent run as it did..Its like the timing is off, but the timing seems to set..It starts without even turning over a whole revolution..It just idles like putt,putt,putt,putt,putt...Any answers guys? Plenty of power and takes the gas too..I dont get it.

Timing Chain off a tooth, distrib off a tooth, just 2 possibilities.

Or a vac line un-connected/wrong place/etc.

If a vacuum line isnt the culprit you might also want to check that your air intake tube is hooked up properly with no leaks anywhere.

During the head gasket swap, was the throttle body gasket also replaced? A leak there would cause this too.

The reason I ask is I know from experience that a fel-pro throttle body gasket does not work. So if you used a fel-pro kit, and changed that gasket, check on it.

OK..!!! I got it...It was 1 valve too tight on the exhaust side..So thank god the valve was not burned..I also found another vacuum hose broken in 2 pieces when removing the valve cover...It's runnin like a baby..Now I can tell its a new engine..=O)
