Hi I have a 1994 4runner and i just recently had the rear third member replaced dur to a broken pinion gear. The new third member is supposed to be the correct one with the correct gears. But when I put the truck into 4 wheel drive low it feels like it wants to pull hard to the right and hop when I turn. Does this mean anything? Maybe it has a locker? Any help would be appreciated.

If you're in 4low on a dry paved surface, you will get some 'hopping' when turning from the drivetrain binding up
What was the source of the replacement diff? new from a dealer, used from a salvage yard? If used it could have an aftermarket locker.
The wrong ratio will also cause the drivetrain to bind up in 4wd.
