So I have a 94 4 runner 3.0 v6 with 272,000 miles. runs great. During the winter it has started to lose brake pedal. you need to pump it 2-3 times to get a hard pedal. once youo drive any distance it loses pedal again. New brakes, all lines intact. not using any fluid. x2 New brake master cylinders. Any suggestions. I also own a 2000 Tundra that just started to do the same thing. Local toyota dealer does not know what the problem is! Any Help? thanks

yeah, bleeding would be good if you havn't done that yet. Does it stop okay? Because my pedal got harder as the brakes wore down but when I replaced the brakes it got softer. As long as it's not going to the floor/stopping okay it shouldn't be a problem.

yes I have bled them over and over again. the truck stops fine but the first time you hit the brakes the pedal goes to the floor and no brakes till it gets there. then you let off and again push and you have 50% pedal and then the third time you have normal pedal. it is not using any fluid. very weird!

You could try adjusting your rear brakes, thats what i would do first. If not that then check the lines and LSVP for small leaks. The lines at the rear of the gas tank are in a good spot to collect mud and crap and mine eventually rotted away.

Did you bench bleed your MC before installing it?
