I just put a new head gasket on my truck..It was needed when I bought it, so I never heard it run before it was done..So...After the head gasket was done I had a valve job done on the truck while having it torn down..The valeves were honed and re-seated..The truck every since then is idleing as if there was a burnt valve or something..putt,putt,putt, But it takes the gas fine and has power too..I was told to place a dollar bill at the end of the tail pipe to check it..It sucked the bill up into the pipe rather then blowing it away..Whats up with this and what can do??

Ok..How do i find out if thats exactly what it is?? And If that's what it is, how do I assure that I move the distributor in the right direction??

What motor and who did the valve set? As far as the distributor get out the timing light. You will figure it out pretty quick. CC advances, clockwise retards.

well the timing is flawless..But ppl keep saying distributor is off one tooth..When you mark it and roll the distributor back with the valve cover off, and roll it forward its lines right up..And you can see both sides at 12 O'clock high..So this is not true as far as the timing or distributor..BUT I think that I have 1 over tightened valve..This will cause the putting like it's doing and cause blow back to the exhaust..Imma tare down the valve cover Thursday and re-adjust the valves..Ill let you know what happens..If I have to..Ill go through all the valves and replace them..This is a new engine and is worth it to me...
