ok probably a stupid question but all these cold air intakes that i am looking at from ebay and such and i think even some from k+n doesnt say what happens to the MAF sensor. what the heck do they do with it? i mean the kit comes with the air intake tube and it looks like the filter attaches right to that. they cant just get rid of the sensor can they?

My buddy had a Yota with an intake on it and the MAS just went right on the end of the tube and the K&N went right on the end..i never put it on mine because i noticed that when your in a water hole and your romping it in reverse the water gets thrown from the tire right to where the filter would be.. which= hydrolock..im puttin a snorkel on mine after i get an insp. sticker

Not postive on the ebay kits but the K&N the MAF stays in the existing location, all that the K&n kit is removal of the air box and replacing with a mount that connects the intake "tube" to the new cone filter. Search the internet many people make these themselves for about $15 to $25 instead of paying $125+ for the K&N. I have thought about a CAI but I have hydrolocked with the stock box so I am not going to risk with an open air filter.
