Well I got the engine out of my Toyota today, came out with about 3 hours of work. So what I found out was wrong- Oil pump gear failed and went through the cover plus it scarred the timing chain cover, timing chain was okay though. Rod bearings were fine, everything internal looked good. The clutch plate was cracked and almost gone I got a new oil pump, clutch plate, timing chain cover, timing set and engine gasket kit for $100.00 on craigslist. All new stuff for not a bad price. I'm going to try to get it done soon and back in by next week. Also I'm thinking about some 33/14R15 Super Swamper Boggers any experiences with those tires?

Sweet. Good deal your bearings survived. I have never owned swampers but have wheeled with lots of guys that do and i can attest to them being awesome offroad tires. Probably the noisest on road and one of the worst wearing but those are the sacrifices you make for such an extreme tire.
If you are doing your clutch strongly consider having your flywheel resurfaced. It will extend the life of your new clutch.

I am getting the flywheel resurfaced, it has little heat cracks in it and they said that resurfacing it would take them out.

Well I decided to do new bearings and rings anyway. One of my bosses friends said he would hot tank it and rehone the cylinders for free.

Damn you should have a new motor for pretty cheap then. Good deal on the parts. I have a timing cover that got a hole ate in it but I welded it at work, brand new now. Its for a 89 22re though.
