Ok, I have the odd stuff happen to my trucks. Here is the latest.
Had to keep adding some powersteering fluid, but no leak could be found. found a little bitty leak, but not to add to the total being added every couple of days. Also, noticed smoke, litttle while idling, a lot when starting in the morning. with 318,241 miles, I figured it was time to let her go, shes dying. Found out the little sensor on the bottom of the power steering pump that helps engage the idle up under heavy steering loads had gone bad, and the hose that leads to the intake maifold was slurping up all my powersteering fluid. Hence the loss of fluid, and the fog at startup. Another valve, some fluid, and I am back up and running. (no more smoke) my 93 t-100 4x4 (same exact motor) does not utilize this system, no valve, just a plug in the spot where the 92 hilux has this valve. wonder why. Just wanted to share, I almost juked the truck, but a $99 sensor, and I am up and running again.

I hope you are using ATF and not powersteering fluid.
