My oil pan is leaking, and i'm thinking about tackling it soon. I know toyota didn't make it simple enough to remove the bolts and drop it. What all has to be unbolted and/or removed to make clearance to drop the oil pan? It's a '95 22RE 4X4.

just clean it with paint thinner and put a good bead of red permatex around it ...or just get under it and look for anything in the way

no no no....
Dont use RTV, if your going to take the time to go that far, just drop the diff and removed the pan and get a new cork gasket. Dont use RTV. 99% of ppl run RTV and use it the wrong way. That stuff is great when applied correctly. Most ppl gob the hell out of it on there and then they wonder why oil pickup tubes get clogged and rod bearings spun.

What i do with oil pans is use cat cement to glue the gasket to the pan then use sealant on the block side of the gasket. Just run a small bead then smooth it out with a puddy knife. It should be an extremely thin layer and almost none should squish out when you torque the pan.
The problem with using sealant on both sides of the gasket is the sealant acts as a lubricant and the gasket tends to want to squish out and break when apply proper torque to the bolts. If you go by feel you can avoid this but then you should be coming back to the job when its dry and torqueing the bolts.
