I have a 89 extended cab 4x4 w/ a v6. I was wondering what would be a good suspension kit or system to get? I want about 4" of lift and no blocks in the back. Thanks

You will find IFS lifts anywhere from 500 to 1500 or so. The price range between 500 and 800 you will pretty much the same product across the board some offering rear springs, others offering blocks. Just take your time, do some reading and make your own educated decision.

The IFS is limited to a few options. Most kits lower the diff. Since they retain most of the stock front end there isnt much to choose between them besides shocks.
Kits that dont lower the diff like downeys start costing in the solid axle swap range. And the axle swap would serve you better then any expensive IFS kits in any terrain short of desert jumping/racing.
Most kits come with blocks. The kits that come with rear springs, the springs tend to be rather stiff.
I would look for a used ifs lift and go with some MarlinCrawler rear springs or maybe a chevy spring swap if you are up to it. The advantage to rock crawling type leafs is they offer a very comfy soft onroad ride compared to a regular pickup. Spend the money for some good shocks as well as they make all the difference to the on road ride quality.
I would also look at getting a rear locker. Lockers are a substantial benefit whether you are in mud, sand, snow or rocks. A V6 lockrite is just over 200 bucks.
