ok so i got a 94 toyota pick up with the v6 and five speed. I have owned the truck for about 4 years and it has 170000 and it dosent burn a drop of oil. i love this truck. latly she dosent seem like her self. she has no power it sounds like a rattle in the block when i put a load on it also i have a wicked ticking sound on the top end. I take very good care of this truck. I checked compression and it was all good, vacum was all good I pulled the valve cover off and the cam was fine. also when it is cold if i give her any gas she starts bucking and going wild. my gas mileage has also gone down hill too. any one got any ideas???

Ticking is usually a valve thing. Idk about the v6 but i know in the 22re you have to check valve clearences every once in a while

Ticking is usually a valve thing. Idk about the v6 but i know in the 22re you have to check valve clearences every once in a while The 3.slow is overhead cam. On the 22re you set the valves by adjusting the rockers. The 6 has no rockers. To set the valves you have to take the whole kit and kaboddle apart and shim. Its a nightmare job most mechanics will refuse to do. With hydraulic cam followers(lifters) you shouldnt need to adjust them anyway.
