Alright...here's the problem... i got an 87 yota single cab 4x4 with a motor out of a early 90's 2wd. when im goin down the road at a constant speed it misses terrible. seems to idle fine but if i tach it up bout 1/4 throttle sittin still, it misses. good above that and good below that but bad at 1/4 throttle. so whats the problem? got new plugs and wires so i know it aint that. i hope its somethin simple and not some kind of trouble with the electronics because of the engine swap. any help would be appreciated...

I have a similar problem with my 87. I swapped to EFI and since it has done this. I think its the throttle position sensor but I haven't had time to find out for sure. Ive gone through everything I can think of, plugs, timing... except that.

yeah i played with the timin a lil too and i thought that helped (must have just been wishful thinkin though) mine was efi before the engine swap though but i didnt know if maybe there were some sensor differences between those years or somethin. not real familiar with yotas, its my first one!! thanks though i'll check that out
