I want to make a new set of shifters for my 87. I just want to replace the parts that come out of the boots. Do both the trans and t case shifters just unscrew from the part that actually goes into the trans / t case? It is the 22r trans and t case if that helps. Thanks

They look like this I would just cut it off and weld the new part on somewhere below the boot where it couldnt be seen

My buddy make some shifters out of a Budlight bar tap and i wanna say new castle for his t-case. It was pretty sweet. On my car i used deer horns and made a badass shifter.
