I have a 1993 pickup 4x4 5 speed with the 22re no a.c. with 218,000 on it and i am having what seems to be a air bubble in the cooling system. I have drained the radiator then refilled it, ran the engine with the radiator cap off and heat on full at idle for about 15 min. while filling the radiator when the coolant level drops or thermostat opens (i have done this about 3-4 times). This fixes the problem for a littel while, then the engine starts to surge at idel reving up and down between 1,250 and 2,100. I am starting to think the head gasket is blown??? I am so confused. no loss in power.
Thats the first problem. The second problem started when i went mudding, suddenly the altimeter started to read low and a pulley started to make a horrible squeak. I replaced the belt and alternator after trying to clean the old one. So a new alternator and belt is in but the altimeter still runs low, very little squeaking now, but it does move up and down quickly irrelivant to engine speed.
Any help would be appreciated!
