hi i as a lot of people have a truck with a blown up 3.0l v6 i have been thinking about and trying to get rid of the truck but i like everything about it except the engine i have decent mechanical ability and over the next 3 weeks should have around 2k to spend on fixing the truck what do you recommend 22re swap, 3.4, small block the only thing that restricts me is that i dont really have a good shop to do it in if anyone has or knows where a v8 bell housing and everything is for a v6 5spd trans let me know i would be interested if i knew how to put pictures up i would i think you would agree my truck is worth fixing

Hi, As from what I read here on the site, my opinion would be to go for a 3.4lt especially since almost a straight swap! More power + less consumption!!! Dave

i read in one it didnt get much better gas mileage and that it was a pretty costly swap i'm thinking just fix the v6 and sell the truck and buy a 4cyl truck

Its quite a bit more power if you get a fresh 3.4L. But yeah everything i have read says the swap ends up costing close to 5 g. The only reason i still think its a better alternative then a SBC is your drivetrain is made to hold up to the 3.4 power.
Fixing the 3.0 slow and getting a 4 banger isnt a bad idea. Be a lot easier then swapping one in.
